Aylesbury’s very own Last Night of the Proms took place over the weekend with IPS providing staging and all technical production
A weekend of activities took place in Vale Park, including a family fun day and performance from local bands as well as the main concert, with a spectacular finale of fireworks. The weather was good, and event was well attended, and up to a thousand people enjoyed the event.
IPS supplied the 12m x 10m MPT Outdoor Roof stage, which is ideal for this kind of event. With a LiteDeck stage platform at 4’ high, the stage structure is ideal for music events. The generous roof loading of the structure allowed for all sound and lighting equipment to be flown – with capacity for much more. Installed in a single day, this structure is a good choice for events that run over a couple of days, providing great value for money. IPS also provided all technical infrastructure for the event, which included lighting, sound, power generation and fuel management, power distribution and cable ramp along with a covered FOH position for control.
The Aylesbury Concert Band performed, joined by soloists Alison Langer and Lawrence Thakeray. A flown d&b audiotechnik T10 line array system with B4 subs provided audio coverage, supported by Martin Audio onstage monitoring. A selection of microphones was used onstage, including models from Shure, AKG and Sennheiser. Audio control was via the Yamaha M7CL Digital Desk at the other end of the 100m multicore run.
Lighting was a mixture of intelligent and generic fixtures, all controlled from an Avolites Pearl Expert lighting desk. The stage backdrop was swagged with LED Starcloth to each side of the stage, and Clay Paky Sharpy fixtures were used to provide striking beam effects across the stage and audience. These were supplemented by Martin MAC 550 fixtures, and LED Pixeltrack Pro uplighters to add colour to the action.
Power was supplied via an IPS 65Kva generator, and all power distribution was earthed and supplied with RCD protected prior to sign off by a trained electrician. IPS stock a wide range of power distribution and cabling options
IPS supplied all technicians and crew to install, operate and remove the stage and all technical infrastructure, alongside all the trucking – a complete technical production solution.
