IPS supply outdoor production solution for GLOW, a community designed winter lighting festival

IPS supplied power generation, temporary structures, PA and lighting equipment for the event, which was based in the grounds of a National Trust Manor House in Barking. The event was a showcase of lighting installations from a variety of artists, and was attended by over 2000 people over the two nights it was running, and attracted lots of positive reactions – and press coverage.

A pair of IPS 67kVA generators to power all the external lighting, along with associated power distribution, cabling and ramps. The lighting consisted of a series of artist designed installation pieces, mainly LED driven. To supplement this, IPS also supplied Martin MAC Viper Performance fixtures with custom glass gobos and Martin MAC Viper Wash DX fixtures to light the façade of the Elizabethan Hall, with an additional sprinkling of SGM P-5 and Lanta Aurora Pent Bars providing colour within the gardens.

Various other fixtures were also supplied, including MBI/Sons and LED Floods, UV fixtures and some active PA speakers for audio playback. Some Battery powered fixtures were also supplied for outlying areas, including the IP rated Chauvet Well Fit uplighters, and LED Spheres. Control for the event was from an Avolites Tiger Touch 2 lighting desk. All these fixtures are available from IPS hire stock.

IPS constructed custom designed Layher hides to provide weatherproof enclosures to protect the lighting equipment from the elements, designed in conjunction with the client. All equipment was delivered, installed and operated by a team of IPS technicians (who also took the great photos on here – plus some more here on Facebook).
