The high output MAC Viper is now available from IPS, with Profile and Wash DX models added to hire stock

The Martin MAC Viper has a 1000w HID discharge source, and new high performance optics make the output comparable to many 1200w and 1500w equivalents. IPS have taken delivery of Profile and Wash DX variants. These both feature the same lamp source, so can each offer matched 6000k colour temperature looks – each with their own special features.

The Martin MAC Viper Profile has a 10-44 degree zoom, and features CMY colour mixing as well as a fixed colour wheel, plus a range of new gobos. The power connections are via PowerCon, and data is via 5pin XLR. The units weigh in at 37.2kg, and are supplied from IPS cased in pairs.

The Martin MAC Viper Wash DX has a 13.5-55 degree zoom, and also features CMY colour mixing and fixed colour wheel – plus motorised internal shutters (the first IPS fixture with this feature) which open up a huge range of possibilities in terms of beam shaping. The power connections are via PowerCon, and data is via 5pin XLR. The units weigh in at 34.1kg, and are supplied from IPS cased in pairs.

The Viper is ideal for larger events and venues, and the 'Fat Beam' looks that can be created by the Profile fixture can quickly build big looks from a very versatile fixture. The units have already been proving a popular addition to the hire inventory, and will be seen on various events throughout the summer.
