IPS commitment to staff training rewarded with another NRC qualification for the team
IPS Event Technician Ben Hawkes is the latest member of our team to gain the PLASA Skills rigging qualification, the National Rigging Certificate.
Ben joins IPS Project Coordinator Ian Brown, who also holds the NRC Level 2 qualification. The Level 2 status requires the completion of an assessment of skill (see details here), and is becoming increasingly common within the entertaiment rigging industry. The IPS team also have a range of other rigging qualifications, including Layher product training, Doughty servicing training, Lodestar Motor training and Prolyte Roof Structure training. As a full member of PLASA (Professional Lighting & Sound Association), IPS is committed to raising standards within the event production industry, and staff are regularly offered a wide range of training - including the NRC. Other recent courses completed by IPS staff include First Aid Training, Manual Handling and Ladder Training, along with Ladder Inspection training, and a variety of product specific training from leading manufacturers.
In other rigging news, IPS has also taken delivery of another significant batch of CM Motors, with a further 12 x 1000kg, 18 x 500kg Lodestars and 24 x 250kg Prostars joining the rental fleet. This is coupled with a large stock increase in rigging accessories including slings, shackles and clamps.
IPS has a large stock of rigging items in our hire department, and our experienced team can help you suspend, raise, bridge and lift in a variety of environments – please contact us for more details, or to discuss your latest project.
